Based on the application environment, Chinese robot experts divide robots into two categories, namely industrial robots and special robots. The so-called industrial robots are multi-joint manipulators or multi-degree-of-freedom robots for the industrial field. Special robots are various advanced robots used in non-manufacturing industries and serving humans, including service robots, underwater robots, entertainment robots, military robots, agricultural robots, robotized machines, etc. Among special robots, some branches are developing rapidly and have a tendency to form independent systems, such as service robots, underwater robots, military robots, micro-manipulation robots, etc. Luo Baihui, a global robot industry investment analyst, pointed out that the industrial chain of the robot industry can be divided into five parts, namely research and development, spare parts production, robot monomer manufacturing, system integration and after-sales service, among which robot monomer, system integration and after-sales service are the components of the robot's entire life cycle, including production, sales, maintenance and elimination. Luo Baihui found through research that robot monomer, system integration and after-sales service share the profits of a robot throughout its life cycle. According to international practice, the gross profit margin of a robot throughout its life cycle is about 60%, making it a truly high-end equipment. Among them, monomer, integration and service each account for one third. Therefore, the longer the industrial chain covered, the stronger the profitability. Therefore, if the robot manufacturer only covers the length of the integrated industrial chain, the gross profit margin is only 20%.
